Ingredients
  

Meat & Protein:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin thinly sliced
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces

Vegetables & Aromatics:

  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • Cooking Liquid & Sauce:
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Seasonings:
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme

Thickening Agents:

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch or keto-friendly alternative like xanthan gum
  • 2 tbsp water

Serving:

  • 12 oz egg noodles gluten-free if needed or zucchini noodles for a keto-friendly version

Instructions
 

Slow Cooker Method:

  • In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium-high heat. Brown the beef and chicken separately until golden. Transfer to a slow cooker.
  • In the same skillet, add another tbsp of oil and sauté onions, garlic, and mushrooms until softened.
  • Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, tomato paste, and seasonings. Stir well.
  • Transfer everything into the crock pot and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Thirty minutes before serving, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  • Stir in sour cream and heavy cream just before serving.
  • Serve over egg noodles crock pot cooked separately or stirred in for the final 20 minutes.

Stovetop Method:

  • Heat olive oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Brown beef and chicken, then set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté onions, garlic, and mushrooms.
  • Add broth, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and seasonings. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Stir in sour cream and heavy cream, then mix with cooked egg noodles.
  • Let everything combine for 5 minutes, then serve.

Baked Beef Stroganoff Method:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Prepare the sauce as described in the stovetop method.
  • Combine cooked noodles, beef, chicken, and sauce in a casserole dish.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
